The Kings Head is located on Town Street, Duffield on the busy A6.

By Car
From the North (M1)
- Leave the M1 at junction 28, then take the 3rd exit off the roundabout (signposted A38 Derby).
- Continue along the A38, then exit at A610 slip road. Take the 4th exit off the roundabout (signposted for Ambergate & Matlock)
- Continue until end of the road, then turn left onto A6 heading towards Belper and Derby.
- Continue along the A6, going through Belper. At the roundabout (next to Morrisons) take 2nd exit to continue onto A6.
- Continue along the A6 through Milford, along a sharp right-hand bend.
- Continue along the A6, going over a railway line. The Kings Head is located on the left-hand side, just after HSBC bank. Limited car parking is available at the rear of the pub. Alternative parking is available on Chapel Street, next left turn after the Kings Head.
From the South (M1)
- Leave the M1 at junction 25, then take 1st exit off the roundabout onto the A52 (signposted Derby)
- Continue along A52, passing Wyvern retail park, until roundabout. At roundabout take 3rd exit (signposted A6, A38, A52)
- Select right-hand lane (going under an underpass), then select left lanes for A6. Look for sign posted A6 Matlock if in doubt.
- Take left hand bend onto A6. Here two lanes merge into 1. Pass pedestal crossing the road then takes a double bend (first left then right), select (2nd) right-hand lane here.
- Road then bends right before splitting off into two. Stay in right hand lane then veer left onto A6.
- Continue along A6 until roundabout. At roundabout take 3rd exit (signposted A6 Matlock)
- Continue along A6 going through Allestree. Eventually you will enter Duffield.
- Coming into Duffield the Kings Head is located on your right-hand side. Limited car parking is available at the rear of the pub. Alternative parking is available on Chapel Street, turn right after Tennis club.
By Bus
The Kings Head is served by the excellent Sixes and Transpeak bus services, all running into Duffield via the A6:
- The Sixes run every 15 minutes into Duffield from both
Derby and Belper (hourly in evenings, with extras on Friday and Saturday
evenings, and half-hourly on Sundays)
The Sixes also run to and from Wirksworth, Matlock, Bakewell, Heage, Ripley, Openwoodgate, and the Belper Estates (see bus timetables for times to and from these destinations) - Transpeak runs into Duffield every hour from Nottingham, Derby, Belper, Matlock, Bakewell, and Buxton. Some Transpeaks also continue to Stockport and Manchester.
NEAREST BUS STOPS
Northbound buses (from Derby)
- The Sixes stop both right outside the Co-Op (about 100 yards from the pub) and also right opposite the Kings Head.
- Transpeak stops outside the Co-Op only.
Southbound buses (from Belper)
- The Sixes and Transpeak stop just after the Kings Head.

The Kings Head is about 100 yards from the Train Station. Exit the station, walk up Station Approach, then turn left onto Town Street.
